El programa de Honors and Awards de ASHRAE Reconoce a Miembros sobresalientes.

ATLANTA (Junio 23, 2019) – ASHRAE reconoció los logros sobresalientes de 103 miembros de la Sociedad y de la industria del aire acondicionado, la ventilación y la calefacción en la Conferencia Anual ASHRAE 2019, que se realizad del 22 al 26 de Junio en Kansas City, Mo. La siguiente es la lista de los premios y los ganadores.

Premio Lincoln Bouillon 
Carlos E. Arguijo, P.E., de el Capítulo El Paso, recibió el Premio Lincoln Bouillon, que reconoce a un miembro que realiza el más extraordinario trabajo para aumentar la cantidad de miembros. El premio conmemora los esfuerzos del miembro Presidencial Bouillon por reclutar nuevos miembros. Arguijo es ingeniero mecánico en Huitt-Zollars, Inc., El Paso, Texas.

Premio a Capítulo por Programa Estrella
Joe Chow of the Hong Kong Chapter, recibió el Premio a Capítulo por Programa Estrella, que reconoce la excelencia  en los forjadores de programas de capítulo. Chow es director en Hong Kong District Company Limited, Hong Kong, China.

Premio RP William J. Collins, Jr. 
Daniel Redmond, P.Eng., del Caítulo Ottawa Valley Chapter, recibió el Premio RP William J. Collins Jr. El premio, nombrado en honor la Miembro Presidencial Collins, reconoce al director de capitulo de RP chair que excede la consecución de fondos para la campaña de RP de ASHRAE. Redmond es director de operaciones y servicio de mantenimiento, Facilities Management and Planning, Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Premio Donald Bahnfleth a la Salud Medio Ambiental
William P. Bahnfleth, Ph.D., P.E., Miembro Presidencial Emérito y Vitalicio ASHRAE, recibió el Premio Donald Bahnfleth a la Salud Medio Ambiental. El premio, nombrado en honor al Miembro Presidencial Donald Bahnfleth, reconoce la excelencia en el servicio voluntario enfocado en asuntos de salud medio ambiental. Bahnfleth es profesor en el  Departmento de Ingeniería Arquitectura, Penn. State University, Uni­versity Park, Pa.

Premio Homer Addams
Omer Sarfraz, recibió el Premio Homer Ad­dams. El premio, nonbrado luego que Homer Addams, fundador y presidente pasado de ASHVE, que es predecesora de ASHRAE, reconoció a un estudiante graduado que se involucró en un poyecto de investigación ASHRAE en una universidad que tenía programas para graduados en las áreas del aire acondicionado, la ventilación y la calefacción, y logró un desempeño alto en su trabajo.. Sarfraz es  estudiante en Oklahoma State University, Still­water, Okla.

Premio a Actividades en Gobierno
Meghan K. McNulty, P.E., del Capítulo de Atlanta, recibió el premio a Actividades en Gobierno. El premio reconoce a individuos por su esfuerzo extraordinario y logros en actividades con el gobierno a nivel estatla, provincial y local en asuntos técnicos relacionados con la Sociedad. McNulty is project engineer, Servidyne, Atlanta, Ga.

Premio Histórico Lou Flagg
Randy C. Schrecengost, P.E., del Capítulo Austin, recibió el Premio Histórico Lou Flagg, que reconoce a nivel individual la preparación de la mejor presentación histórica relacionada con el HVAC&R. El premio es nombrado en reconocimiento del Miembro Presidencial Lou Flagg, quién promocionó la historia. Schrecengost es senior project manager e ingeniero mecánico principal en Stan­ley Consultants, Inc., Austin, Texas.

Premio por Logros en Estándares
Richard L. Hall, P.E., Miembro Vitalicio ASHRAE, recibió el Premio por Logros en Estándares, que reconoce un servicio excepcional en el área de liderazgo de estándares y contribución técnica. Hall es presidente de Hall Consultants, Worthington, Ohio.

Premio Ralph G. Nevins en Medio Ambiente Humano y Fisiología
Bin Cao, Ph.D., recibió el Premio Ralph G. Nevins en Medio Ambiente Humano y Fisiología. El premio, nombrado en honorde Ralph Nevins y sus contribuciones a la investigación, se otorga a un investigador con menos de  40 años de edad por sus logros significativos en el estudio de la ingeniería biomedioambiental y sus efectos en el confort humano y la salud. Cao es profesor asistente en el Department of Building Science, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

Premio por Logros en Actividades con Estudiantes
Michel D. Hayek, recibió el Premio por Logros en Actividades con Estudiantes, que reconoce al director de estudiantes de un capítulo por el crecimiento de las actividades. Hayek es profe­sor de ingeniería mecánica en Notre Dame University-Louaize, Zouk-Mosbeh, Lebanon.

Premio Youth Outreach 
Cinthya Cecilia Carrillo Mendez, P.E., recibió el Premio Youth Outreach, que reconoce el esfuerzo extraordinario de un miembro que activamente involucra audiencia joven en su país, región o comunidad local a traves de actividades en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemática (science, technology, engineering and mathematics -STEM). Carrillo Mendez es ingeniero de proyectos  HVAC en West­ern Allied Mechanical, Menlo Park, Calif.

Premio a Artículo de Revista ASHRAE
Daniel Koenigshofer, P.E., and John W. Rob­erts, P.E., Miembro Vitalicio ASHRAE, recibió el Premio a Artículo de revista por el articulo, “Do OA Economizers Make ‘Cents’ in Hospitals? evaluado como el mejor artículo publicado en la revista ASHRAE Journal. Koenigshofer es vice presidente de heath care engineering y Roberts es ingeniero mecánico senior de Dewberry Engineering, Raleigh, N.C.

Premio al Mejor Artículo en Ciencia y Tecnología para el Sector de la Construcción
Burak Gunay, Ph.D., Weiming Shen, y Chun­sheng Yang, recibió el Premio al Mejor artículo en ciencia y tecnología para la construcción por “Blackbox Modeling of Central Heating and Cooling Plant Equipment Performance.” El artículo fue publicado en Noviembre de 2017. Gunay es profesor asistente del Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Carleton Uni­versity, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Shen es principal research officer and Yang es senior research officer, National Research Council Canada, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Premio Crosby en Campo
Amy Van Asselt, Ph.D., Douglas T. Reindl, Ph.D., P.E., Miembro Emérito ASHRAE y Gregory F. Nellis, Miembro Emérito ASHRAE, recibieron el premio Crosby en Campo 2018 por el artículo “Strategies to Increase Deployment of Renewables Using Cool Thermal Energy Storage,” que fue evaluado como el mejor artículo presentado a la Sociedad. El Premio Crosby en Campo se nombra por el Miembro Presidencial. Van Asselt es profesor asistente en Lafayette College, Easton, Pa. Reindl es profesor y Nellis es Ouwe­neel-Bascom professor and associate chair, Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis.

O’Neal is dean, School of Engineering and Computer Science, Baylor University, Waco, Texas. Lu is a Ph.D. candidate, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Texas A & M University, College Station, Texas.

  • Shima Sadat Shahahmadi and Li Song, received an award for “Valve Flowmeter Enhancement through Computing Valve Dynamic Behaviors.” Shahahmadi is systems engineer, ClimateMaster, Inc., Oklahoma City, Okla. Song is associate professor, University of Oklahoma, Norman, Okla.

Premio Willis H. Carrier
Peng Yin, Ph.D., and Carl Lewis Reidrecibieron el Premio Willis H. Carrier, que se otorga a miembros de 32 años o más jóvenes por presentar un artículo sobresaliente en una conferencia de la sociedad. El premió se dió por “Modeling Variable-Airflow Series Fan-Powered Terminal Units with a Mass and Energy Bal­ance Approach.” Yin es profesor asistente en University of Louisiana, Lafayette, La. Premio Louise & Bill Holladay al Miembro Emérito Distinguido
Predrag Pega Hrnjak, Miembro Emérito Vitalicio ASHRAE, recibió El Premio a Miembro Emérito Distinguido Louise and Bill Holladay . Este premio anual se otroga a un Miembro Emérito ASHRAE por su continua preeminencia en la ingeniería o el trabajo de investigación. El honor se comenzó en 1979 por el Miembro Presidencial Bill Holladay.
